Bike to Tipon - 1 Day
This full day’s biking trip in the south valley takes in the small town of Huaso and the impressive inca site of Tipon.
We travel by private transport from Cusco to the small community of Patacancha. From here we have impressive views over the Cusco Valley. We will visit the community and experience a little bit of rural life. From Patacancha we begin on bikes, first going downhill, then a short uphill section to arrive at the site of Tipon.
Tipon was constructed in pre- Inca times. It is thought to be the Royal gardens that Wiracocha, the leader of the Wari, built for his father Yahuar Huaca. It exists of terraces with beautifully constructed water canals that still function nowadays. We will take time to visit the site before continuing along an even road back to the village of Huasao. This village is famous for its many inhabitants who tell people’s fortunes by reading the sacred Coca leaves. There is time for you to try out a reading before we return to Cusco in private transport.
